About this Coffee
Ethiopia Shantawene comes from exporters, Daye Bensa, founded in 2006 by brothers Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo. Most of the people working here are women, and Daye Bensa takes pride in supporting them, encouraging partnerships with the local university so students can research ways to improve coffee quality.
Daye Bensa handles their coffee every step of the way, with 15 washing stations across three districts. Each year, they celebrate nearly 1,000 farmers at Out-Growers Day, giving a second payment to recognise them for consistently delivering high-quality cherries.
Roasted for filter, Shantawene is bright and fruit-forward, with notes of peach and finger lime, and a black tea finish. Every sip is a reminder that warmer days are just around the corner.

Tasting Notes
The Golden Ratio
We recommend a ratio of 60g of freshly ground coffee for every litre of water. This is a good place to start, but you can fine-tune your recipe to suit your taste. You'll find some suggested brewing ratios of hot water to ground coffee for you to use below.
