AU Production Lead

Melbourne
Full time
Immediate

Great coffee doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens when exceptional people take ownership of every step - from green bean to benchtop.

We are looking for an experienced and strategic AU Production Lead to take ownership of leading our Australian production operations.

About the role

As our AU Production Lead, you’ll take end-to-end ownership of our Australian production operations, elevating the journey of our coffee from the moment green beans arrive at the roastery, through to fulfilment and delivery.

Based at our Melbourne production facility, you’ll lead day-to-day roasting and fulfilment operations while also overseeing and aligning production across our other Australian roasteries. Your work ensures that every Supreme moment our customers experience is backed by world-class quality, reliability, and consistency - no matter where it’s roasted.

You’ll be both strategic and hands-on, guiding teams, optimising systems, and building a production operation that’s scalable, resilient, and deeply people-centred.

Your mission

  • Take Ownership of Australian production operations, driving operational excellence across roasting and fulfilment.

  • Lead with Courage, Curiosity & Creativity, constantly seeking smarter, more sustainable ways to improve performance.

  • Build resilient production systems and processes that support growth without compromising quality.

  • Nurture Supreme Relationships, collaborating deeply with internal teams and external partners.

  • Balance precision and people, delivering consistently high standards while prioritising safety, wellbeing, and culture.

You’ll take coffee seriously - because quality matters - but not too seriously. You’ll foster an energetic, positive, and collaborative team culture that reflects our purpose and keeps people proud of what they produce every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and managing daily roasting and fulfilment operations at the Melbourne roastery

  • Providing operational oversight and alignment across multiple Australian roasteries

  • Setting and maintaining production schedules to meet demand, quality, and delivery targets

  • Supporting quality assurance processes, ensuring consistency across batches, sites, and teams

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across efficiency, yield, waste reduction, and throughput

  • Developing, coaching, and inspiring production leaders and frontline teams

  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, WHS, and regulatory requirements across all sites

  • Partnering with Supply Chain, Coffee, Finance, and Customer Support teams to align production with business needs

  • Managing capacity planning, equipment performance, and maintenance strategies

  • Leading incident response, root cause analysis, and preventative action planning

  • Building strong relationships with external logistics, equipment, and green coffee partners

  • Supporting new site launches, upgrades, or process standardisation initiatives

  • Embedding a culture of safety, accountability, and pride

What success looks like

  • Consistently high-quality coffee across all Australian roasteries

  • Engaged, capable teams who feel safe, supported, and motivated

  • Scalable systems that support growth without sacrificing quality

  • Clear visibility of performance, risks, and opportunities across production

  • A production culture that’s disciplined, curious, and genuinely enjoyable to be part of

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end production across roasting, packing, and fulfilment

  • Confidence managing and aligning operations across multiple sites

  • A deep respect for coffee quality, consistency, and craft

  • Strong planning and organisational skills to balance demand, capacity, and people

  • A continuous improvement mindset—you’re always looking for smarter, better ways to work

  • A people-first leadership style that develops capability and builds trust

  • A strong commitment to safety, food standards, and doing things properly

  • The ability to use data and insight to guide decisions and improvements

  • Collaborative energy—you work well across teams and with external partners

  • Calm, grounded leadership, with a sense of humour and genuine passion for what you do

What We Offer

  • A staff coffee allowance and team discounts
  • Paid time off for volunteering
  • A vibrant and supportive team culture

  • Participate in events at the roastery.

It's a full time salaried position (38 hours per week).
The ordinary hours of work fall between 6.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

  • Identify with our core values:
