We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Production Roaster to join our team and help deliver the perfect roast every time. If you're an experienced roaster with a deep love for coffee and a keen eye for detail, we'd love to bring you into our close-knit team where quality, creativity, and community thrive.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The roasting team plays a crucial role in the delivery of our vision: for our brands to sit at every bench top where exceptional coffee is helping to raise the bar. They're responsible for producing a consistent and exceptional standard of coffee for our customers and partners, building trust in our brand and maximising customer retention.
Our Sydney roastery is home to two iconic coffee brands - Coffee Supreme and Gabriel Coffee - and in this role you'll be proudly repping both. This role will be focussed on the daily preparation and roasting of our key blends and singles.
Key responsibilities include
- Prepare green coffee for roasting using the set blend recipes
- Roast coffee according to the production schedule, ensuring roasting profiles are maintained with consistency
- Record roasting data and perform QC protocols
- Fulfil all assigned service and cleaning schedules
- Sample and small batch roast as required
- Safely load and unload inwards and outwards goods
- Safely store items in the warehouse in the correct bays
- Perform regular stock takes
- Attend and participate in regular cuppings
- Participate in our R&D program
- Greet and assist any customer, supplier or any other visitors to our roastery.
- Participate in events at the roastery
- Assist with the continuous improvement of the business
It's a full time salaried position (40 hours per week).
The ordinary hours of work fall between 7.00am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
ABOUT THE PERSON
We’re looking for a friendly, energetic and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, production environment and who is excited to be on the tools Monday to Friday. Our ideal candidate will have existing roasting experience, but also be passionate about learning and continuous improvement.
A great fit for our team will be someone fun, proactive, responsible, adaptable, solutions-focussed and able to prioritise tasks effectively whilst maintaining high-quality standards.
Key skills required
- Ideally have 2+ years roasting experience
- Ideally have experience working with Cropster
- Demonstrate a well-educated palate and possess a willingness to further develop skills and understanding
- Have a good understanding of espresso extraction and non-pressurised brewing methods
- Have a good understanding of specialty coffee farming processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Be very organised and work to deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Be able to prioritise tasks and adapt to an ever-changing workload
- Have a solution-focused attitude
- Physically fit and able to lift 24kg
- Experience quality controlling coffee
- Forklift licence an advantage

Espresso Machine Technician

We’re on the hunt for an experienced and qualified espresso machine technician to join our team in Brisbane.
Our technicians are the real heroes of our busy wholesale operation. They keep our customers' operational by ensuring their machinery is in tip-top condition. You’ll be responsible for the regular servicing and upkeep of our fleet of coffee equipment, and for delivering excellent service and support to our valued cafe customers in Queensland.
The role also includes being on call to attend to customer emergencies and provide phone support.
Main duties include:
- Providing an excellent and reliable technical service to our wholesale customers in the upper North Island.
- Performing regular maintenance and repairs of our customers' equipment.
- Swiftly responding to customer call outs.
- Working with 3rd party techs to resolve issues as required.
- Diagnosing problems, then identifying and actioning solutions that will keep our customers operational.
- Working with the Sales team to recommend and provide appropriate machinery and solutions for our customers.
- Performing pre-installation checks, managing installation requirements and completing installations.
- Delivering quality customer care and excellent communication when responding to technical enquiries.
- Performing weekend/after hours “on call” responsibilities on a regular scheduled basis.
- Documenting all service and installation work in our ERP system.
- Invoicing customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a tidy and organised workshop.
- Performing regular stocktakes.
- Keeping on site technical equipment and vans well maintained with regular service and preventative maintenance.
- Staying up to date on techniques in the ever evolving coffee industry, participate in educational opportunities and share knowledge.
The successful applicant will:
- Hold the appropriate licence to be able to work on espresso equipment
- Prior experience servicing espresso machinery
- Be proficient with tools and machinery
- Have an in depth knowledge of espresso machinery
- Ideally have a strong barista skill set
- Have a full clean driver’s licence
- Have strong customer service skills
- Have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Be reliable and consistent with a great sense of humour and ‘can-do’ attitude
- Be a professional with a presentable manner
