Business Development Manager
Sydney
Full Time
Immediate
Eat coffee for breakfast?
Our mission is simple: to enhance people’s lives by cultivating greater connection, creativity, and collaboration. We are dedicated to delivering Supreme moments by backing great cafés with exceptional service and training, building brands that are benchtop worthy. If you believe exceptional coffee helps to raise the bar, and you thrive on hunting down new opportunities and seeing businesses succeed, you belong with us!
About the role
As our Business Development Manager (NSW), your mission is to actively grow our wholesale customer base and expand our network of coffee fans across New South Wales. Our Sydney roastery is home to two iconic coffee brands - Coffee Supreme and Gabriel Coffee - and in this role you'll be proudly repping both.
You will be a key driver of NSW growth, running a proactive and successful sales programme to ensure our brand continues to raise the bar on premium benchtops.
In your daily work, you will bring our four core values to life:
- Nurture Supreme® Relationships: Build deep trust and mutual benefit with every prospect, while fostering open, honest, and collaborative partnerships with your internal teammates.
- Take Ownership: Drive commercial success, smash your KPIs, and get things done with urgency while taking full responsibility for the promises you make.
- Be Courageous, Curious & Creative: Constantly seek new ways of doing things, strive for continuous improvement in your sales approach, and remain curious as you uncover fresh opportunities in the market.
- Take Coffee Seriously, but Not Too Seriously: Balance an uncompromising standard of excellence in every cup with genuine fun, warm hospitality, and a positive, "muck-in" attitude.
This is a dynamic, high-energy role for a natural connector who can manage a healthy pipeline, talk business strategy with café owners, and deliver growth with urgency.
Key Responsibilities
Drive New Business (Sales Programme):
- Proactively seek and establish meaningful connections with potential new customers in line with our sales strategy.
- Manage an active pipeline (via CRM) of 100+ prospective customers, maintaining up-to-date records and moving clients seamlessly through the sales process.
- Respond to new business enquiries with absolute urgency—evaluating leads and jumping on phone calls or meetings the same day.
- Construct, present, and deliver commercial offers to potential customers following set guidelines, liaising closely with internal departments for smooth execution.
- Perform full, thorough handovers to the Account Management team once a sale is successfully across the line.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key influential people across the hospitality industry.
Brand & Culture:
- Play an active role in organising and participating in events designed to drive sales and brand equity.
- Contribute to the future direction, planning, and strategy of the sales department.
- Demonstrate warm Supreme hospitality, keep shared spaces clean and safe, and always act as a great ambassador for the brand.
About the person
Building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and connecting people are at the heart of this role. We're looking for a confident, mature, and self-motivated individual who possesses high emotional intelligence and can read people and situations beautifully.
You need to have strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of hospitality businesses - you know exactly what it takes for a café to be commercially successful. Being already connected to an existing network of NSW café owners, roasters, and hospitality professionals will give you a massive head start.
This role suits a proactive self-starter who balances a sense of hustle with an organised, detail-oriented approach to pipeline management.
The successful applicant will:
- Possess strong customer service and people skills, with an ability to relate to people from all walks of life.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in sales, with the ability to discuss P&L, machinery leases, and commercial contracts confidently.
- Be highly organised with reliable CRM hygiene and excellent time management.
- Be an adaptable team player who is ready to muck in with the team but equally effective working autonomously.
- Hold a full, clean driver's licence.
- Identify closely with our brand, code of conduct, and values.
Extra details
This is a full-time role. While ordinary hours generally fall between Monday to Friday, a flexible approach is required from time to time to support customer needs and brand events.
A full, clean driver's licence is a non-negotiable. A company vehicle is part of the package, along with the tools you need to get the job done (laptop and phone allowance).
What We Offer
- A staff coffee allowance and team discounts
- Paid time off for volunteering
- A vibrant, supportive, and inclusive team culture
- Opportunities for growth within the Coffee Supreme network
- Coffee Supreme is a certified B Corp and an equal opportunities employer.
