About this Coffee
Gogugu comes to us from one of Ethiopia’s highest-elevation coffee regions: Uraga, in the Guji Zone. Here, young coffee trees thrive around 2,000 metres above sea level. The Gogugu Washing Station was established in 2020 and is already producing coffee that’s turning heads.
Cherries are grown by 510 smallholder farmers on trees just 5 to 10 years old, making them some of the youngest in Ethiopia. The coffee is washed, wet-fermented for up to 72 hours, and dried over 13 days. The result is a sweet, balanced filter roast with notes of berries and milk chocolate.
This one’s got classic Guji character and serious potential. Don’t sleep on Gogugu.

Tasting Notes
The Golden Ratio
We recommend a ratio of 60g of freshly ground coffee for every litre of water. This is a good place to start, but you can fine-tune your recipe to suit your taste. You'll find some suggested brewing ratios of hot water to ground coffee for you to use below.
