About this Coffee

Hailing from Ethiopia’s Guji region, this lot comes from Mr Girum Girma. His 12-hectare farm is one of the largest in the Urga District, and coffee is the family’s main livelihood. It’s all hands on deck on the Girma farm to bring you this naturally processed filter, with balanced flavours of apple blossom, raisin, and red wine, finished sweet and silky.

Mr Girum is part of The Single Farmer Project, which brings fully traceable coffees like this one to your mug. It began in 2012, working with a local co-op to export some of Ethiopia’s first-ever single-farmer lots.

Today, the project continues to thrive, with farmers setting their own prices and signing contracts for every coffee they sell. From once-turbulent times, Ethiopian coffee has come a long way. And now the goal is simple: celebrate the farmer, stay transparent, and build relationships that last.
