Every great cafe experience is built on more than just good coffee — it’s shaped by the energy, connection, and hard work of the people behind the machine. With the launch of the Coffee Supreme x La Marzocco Workwear Collection, we’re celebrating those who make it happen.
This series takes us behind the scenes, into the cafes and workshops, to hear from members of our community who are putting the new workwear to the test in their daily grind. Next up, we chat with Blossom, the manager of Coffee Supreme’s Melbourne cafe. From leading a team to keeping the coffee flowing, she knows that a great shift is all about the right tools — whether that’s a dialed-in espresso or workwear that moves with her.
Q: Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Coffee Supreme?
A: My name is Blossom, and I'm the manager of our cafe in Melbourne that runs alongside our roastery.
Q: What do you love most about running a Coffee Supreme cafe?
A: The energy and the connection — both within the team and with our customers. Our cafe prides itself on being warm, welcoming, and energetic. I love having those small, random conversations with customers and regulars, building new relationships, and creating a space that feels like home. That’s always been my favorite part of hospitality, and it’s something we champion here at Supreme.
Q: How does the workwear support you and your team during a busy shift?
A: Functionality is key. It might seem simple, but having pockets for pens, Sharpies, and lists makes a massive difference in staying organised. When you're running around during service, being able to keep everything you need on you helps things flow smoothly.
Q: What are the key things that make a great cafe experience?
A: It’s a combination of energy, atmosphere, and quality. When you walk into a cafe, the music sets the tone, the team’s energy is contagious, and the quality of what you’re served — whether it’s coffee, food, or pastries — is what keeps you coming back. Everything we serve is made with care and thoughtfulness, and I think that really shines through in the experience.
Q: What do you think sets Coffee Supreme apart in the coffee world?
A: Our attention to detail and passion. From farm to table, every part of the process is meticulously considered and refined. We have strong relationships with the farmers who grow our beans, and that care continues all the way to the final cup we serve. It’s about delivering the best coffee experience possible.
Q: First impressions — what do you like most about the new workwear?
A: They look amazing! As someone who wears workwear and skatewear regularly, I love the straight fit and how well they’re made. They fit tall bodies well, which is a win in my books.
Q: How does what you wear impact how you work and feel during service?
A: It has a massive impact. If I feel confident and comfortable in what I’m wearing, I show up better in service, with my team, and with customers. That feeling flows onto the people around me, so when my team feels good in what they’re wearing, it helps create a positive atmosphere in the cafe.
Q: What advice would you give to someone stepping into a cafe manager role?
A: Spend time thinking about what kind of leader you want to be. There are so many ways to lead, and if you do it authentically while taking care of your team, you’ll thrive. Understanding different communication, learning, and feedback styles helps you build a strong, supportive culture where people can grow. And don’t forget to have fun—balance responsibility with a bit of silliness to keep things enjoyable.
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to share?
A: I’m really grateful to Coffee Supreme for taking care of their people. It’s cool to be part of a team where I feel comfortable and supported, and also get to wear workwear that looks fresh. The fact that we can collaborate with companies like La Marzocco — who have such a strong ethos and are aligned with our values — is just really exciting.
