ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Gakuyu-Ini is bright, juicy, and as crisp as they come. It’s everything we know and love about a Kenyan coffee.
Roasted for filter, it opens with blackcurrant and grapefruit, backed by candy-like lemon. The body is light, giving way to a clean, silky finish with lingering sweetness and a delicate citrus lift.
This lot comes from Gakuyu-Ini Coffee Factory in Kirinyaga County, where hundreds of smallholder farmers deliver freshly picked cherries for processing. Established in 1982, the factory supports growers with less than a hectare of coffee each. Careful cultivation, wet processing, and meticulous drying help showcase the vibrant character that has made coffees from this region so sought after.
Gakuyu-Ini is the kind of coffee you’ll often find yourself pouring another mug.

The Golden Ratio
We recommend a ratio of 60g of freshly ground coffee for every litre of water. This is a good place to start, but you can fine-tune your recipe to suit your taste. You'll find some suggested brewing ratios of hot water to ground coffee for you to use below.
