These canisters are individually handmade in Japan by Kato Seisakujyo, a manufacturer of traditional Japanese tea canisters founded in 1895 in Asakusa, Tokyo. Coffee Supreme are proud to be the first to offer Kato Seisakujyo canisters outside of Japan.

Kato Seisakujyo manufacturing process remains remarkably similar throughout the decades. Each component is cut and rolled from sheet metal before being formed into a canister. The canisters are then individually sprayed by hand before being heat cured in a kiln. Finally, the graphic element is applied using a silkscreen process then left to dry.
