A Clean Machine Makes Better Coffee

Sometimes your coffee tastes bad because the beans are old. Sometimes your machine is simply dirty. Every coffee leaves behind oils and tiny coffee particles. Left unchecked, they build up over time and start affecting both the flavour of your coffee and the performance of your machine. The good news? Looking after your machine doesn't take much.

After Every Coffee

There are three small things worth doing after every brew:

1.Run water through the group head.
2. Knock out and rinse the basket.
3. Wipe and purge the steam wand.

It only takes a minute, and it makes a big difference over time.

At The End Of The Day

Before you call it a day, give your machine a quick reset. Empty the drip tray and knock box, rinse the portafilter and basket, and give the machine and bench a quick wipe down. Your future self will thank you.

Once A Week

Set aside a few extra minutes for a deeper clean. Give everything a proper look over, replace water filters when recommended, and descale when required. Your Breville machine will usually let you know when it's time for a cleaning cycle, so there's no need to guess.

Keep It Simple

Looking after your machine isn't complicated. If it looks cooked, clean it. Your coffee will taste better for it.
