We’re on the hunt for an espresso machine technician to join our Melbourne team. This role is part time / casual, but we are also keen to hear from people looking for full time work too.
If you love coffee and the hospitality industry, are a natural problem solver, and are handy with tools, then this could be the perfect role for you, and we would love to hear from you. Don't worry if you don't have experience as we are open to training the right person!
About the role
Our technicians are the real heroes of our busy wholesale operation. They keep our customers' machinery tip top while providing excellent service and support.
You’ll be responsible for the regular servicing and upkeep of our customers coffee equipment, which includes being on call to attend customer emergencies and provide phone support.
Some of the main duties include
- Providing an excellent and reliable technical service to our wholesale customers in Victoria.
- Performing regular maintenance and repairs of our customers' equipment.
- Swiftly responding to customer call outs.
- Diagnosing problems, then identifying and actioning solutions that will keep our customers operational.
- Performing pre-installation checks, manage operational requirements and complete installations.
- Performing weekend/after hours “on call” responsibilities every second weekend.
- Delivering quality customer care and excellent communication about all technical enquiries.
- Working with Customer Development Managers to recommend and provide appropriate machinery and solutions for our customers.
- Documenting all service and installation work in our ERP system.
- Invoicing customers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a tidy and organised workshop.
- Performing regular stocktakes.
- Keeping on site technical equipment and vans well maintained with regular service and preventative maintenance.
- Staying up to date on techniques in the ever evolving coffee industry, participate in educational opportunities and share knowledge.
The successful applicant will
Have an in depth knowledge of espresso machinery
Be proficient with tools and machinery
Have a strong barista skill set (2+ years preferred)
Have a full clean driver’s licence (and can drive a manual)
Have strong customer service skills
Have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
Be a quick thinker, and decisive
Have strong organisational and planning skills
Be reliable and consistent with a great sense of humour and ‘can-do’ attitude
Be a problem solver attitude with experience in delivering customer-focused solutions based on their specific needs
Be a professional with a presentable manner
- Prior experience servicing La Marzocco and La San Marco machinery is a bonus.

As an Account Manager, you will be the go-to person for the customers in your portfolio for all commercial matters - equipment, kg price, new product growth and cafe development - discussions had on a regular and scheduled basis with prepared information to benefit the customer’s performance.
Providing fun and informative coffee training for baristas working with our coffee is another major facet of the role. This is where your excellent barista skills and hospitality experience will come into their own. You'll need to understand the pressures our customers face and respond to this with practical assistance, drawing on all of your pro-tips that you've picked up from your years in the industry.
Some of the main duties are:
- Establish, nurture and maintain strong relationships with the customers in your region’s portfolio.
- Overall responsibility for managing the customer relationship and ensuring that customers receive the highest quality of customer care from Coffee Supreme.
- Gain a knowledge of our products, ordering and delivery methods and processes.
- Gain an understanding of the unique needs, goals and challenges for each customer so that we can tailor our approach to help them to succeed.
- Develop a “toolkit” of strategies to help grow the profitability of existing accounts.
- Create and carrying out a regular visit schedule to the customers in your portfolio.
- Train baristas to make outstanding coffee, using approved Coffee Supreme techniques and approaches.
- Organise training bookings, and provide constructive feedback.

To get your foot in the door, you'll need to have top-notch barista skills, great coffee knowledge and ideally know your way around La Marzocco machinery and Mythos or Mazzer grinders. You will have a minimum of two years' hospitality experience and ideally have worked in a management position. Being connected to an existing network of Sydney cafe owners and baristas will be a huge advantage.
This role will suit someone who is super passionate about coffee and the hospitality industry, who is engaging, confident and self motivated. You'll need to be a great communicator and able to relate to people from all walks of life. Having a sense of hustle and a positive outlook are a must.
The successful applicant will:
- Have a high level of espresso making skills in a commercial environment - this is a non-negotiable.
- Have strong customer service skills and an ability to relate to people from all walks of life.
- Have at least 2+ years of hospitality experience, and ideally having worked in a management role.
- Have a sound knowledge of the Sydney hospitality scene.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be a proactive self-starter with good time management skills.
- Relentless attention to detail.
- Muck in with the team and be effective working autonomously.
- Have a full clean driver's licence.

Extra details
This is a full time role. The ordinary hours of work usually fall between 7.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday, but some hours outside of this will be required from time to time depending on our customers' needs as well as events we are running or participating in.
A full, clean driver's licence is a must. A fully maintained company vehicle is part of the salary package, along with a mobile phone allowance and laptop.
The role involves regular travel around NSW (around 1 week per month).
