About this Coffee
Perched high in the hills of the Nyamasheke District, Macuba Washing Station turns out some of the best coffee in Rwanda. Warm days, cool nights, and high altitude help the cherries mature slowly, building up sugars and big flavour. Cherries are handpicked, dry fermented, washed and sun-dried over 22 days — a process that involves regular turning and careful covering during the hottest hours and any rainfall to keep conditions just right.
Fancy yourself a bit of a sweet tooth? This one’s got your name all over it. Roasted for filter, Macuba delivers marmalade and candy notes with juicy acidity and a velvety body.

Tasting Notes
The Golden Ratio
We recommend a ratio of 60g of freshly ground coffee for every litre of water. This is a good place to start, but you can fine-tune your recipe to suit your taste. You'll find some suggested brewing ratios of hot water to ground coffee for you to use below.
