About this coffee

A zesty and sweet coffee from Africa.

Gichugu Coffee Factory sits at an altitude of 1680 metres above sea level on the expansive slopes of the Mount Kenya region. The factory began operations in the early 1970’s and its location provides rich red volcanic soils ideal for coffee production. There are eight soak pits for draining the waste water, with Napier grass and trees planted nearby to help in purifying the wastewater.

The Gichugu Factory has been very progressive in promoting sustainability through education and training of the farmers and with this forethought, has a bright future.
