About this Coffee

High up in the western highlands of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, you'll find Finca La Bolsa. The region is known for its high altitude, plentiful rainfall, lush shade and moderate temperatures which help to grow exceptional coffee. The coffees grown at Finca La Bolsa are unique, as each area produces coffee with its own distinct character due to the different microclimates found across the farm.

Finca La Bolsa was founded in 1958 by Jorge Vides. Since then, the farm has been handed down three generations to Maria Elena Vides and her son Renardo Ovalle. Over the years, we've worked closely with Renardo and his family, with annual visits where we get to taste the unique coffees they grow.

Pena Blanca is a sweet reminder that great farming practices make great coffees. With notes of dried fruit and red apple, this super satisfying coffee is a delight from start to finish. Expect subtle hints of spices and caramel that line up against a smooth mouthfeel and sparkling acidity. If you ever need a reason to fall in love with Guatemalan coffees, Pena Blanca is it.
