About this coffee

A classic Ethiopian.

The Sidama region lies in southwestern Ethiopia, in the famous Great Rift Valley that runs through Ethiopia and Kenya. The coffee from this region is produced and gathered by an impressive 70,000 farmers and is one of three top coffee growing regions in Ethiopia.

In the micro region of Gejaba where this coffee is sourced, 354 pickers hand pick the ripe cherry, consisting of many heirloom varietals historically originating in Ethiopia. The soil in this region is rich in minerals and nitrogen due to volcanic deposits, which help to nourish the plants and develop the beautifully sweet and delicate flavours we have come to love from this area.
